Whatnot replaced its fee structure on Sep 21, 2026: commission now depends on your trailing-28-day sales tier and what you sell — and it is charged on the item price only, never on shipping or tax.
Whatnot has intermediate tiers between Standard and Tier 6; their full rate table is applied as Whatnot publishes it. This calculator covers the two ends of the published table.
How Whatnot fees are calculated
- Commission: charged on the item price only. Standard tier: 8% for most categories, 4% for Coins, 5% for Electronics. Tier 6: 6.5% Sports/TCG, 4.5% Fashion, 5% Other Collectibles, 3.5% Coins, 4% other categories.
- Commission ceiling: in Comics, TCG, Sports Singles, and Toys categories, commission is charged only on the first $1,500 of the item price (rate reported from Whatnot's Help Center).
- Payment processing: 2.9% + $0.30 on the total order value — item + shipping + tax (US/CA/AU).
- No listing or subscription fees. Not modeled: Whatnot's paid Promote/Boost tools (pricing not published in the verified table).
- Freshness warning: this tier system is new (Sep 21, 2026) and tiers reset every 28 days by design. Expect Whatnot to keep tuning it — confirm on Whatnot before relying on a figure.
